Overview

As a Part Time Retail Store Associate at Office Depot, your role is vital to our success. You'll engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, creating a positive shopping experience while driving sales.

In this role, you will connect with customers, address their needs, and recommend products, services, and solutions. You'll help create a vibrant sales culture, maintain visual and merchandising standards, and support freight and logistics activities. Supporting a customer-centric environment and engaging with the local community are key components, aligned with Office Depot's 5C values: Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. As an entry-level Store Associate, you will receive training in technology and print products/services to assist customers effectively and apply sales principles to enhance customer interactions and business growth.

The role is essential in driving store success through sales and service excellence, especially in Print and Technology areas.

The position may require periodic background checks conducted by a third-party.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Customer Centric Experience

• Proactively acknowledge and engage every customer.
• Promote the sale of solutions and additional products/services using the selling program.
• Be aware of advertisements, promotions, sales, and loyalty programs.

Store Operations Commitment

• Maintain store and print department appearance per guidelines.
• Ensure signage, labeling, and merchandise presentation standards are met.
• Follow sorting, stocking, and freight processes.
• Organize freight sorting areas.
• Manage inventory levels daily.

Print and Tech Expertise

• Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge through training, including certifications if required.

Sales Techniques

• Ensure compliance with policies and support loss prevention.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use technology.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
• Client-focused, positive, engaging, and action-oriented, with passion for the brand, products, and solutions.
