Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a Retail Operations Specialist in Richardson, TX for a 6+ month onsite contract. The role focuses on banking data analytics, Excel-based reporting, and Power BI insights to support back-office operations.

You will reconcile ledgers, review activity for discrepancies, and develop operational reports while partnering with risk and internal teams. Strong Excel skills and banking experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of retail banking experience, with operations or back-office experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros/VBA, and large datasets.
• Experience with GL reconciliation or financial reconciliation.
• An inquisitive, analytical mindset: you ask questions, challenge assumptions, and let the data drive your decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership and urgency in resolving issues.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Ledger (GL) reconciliations and research and resolve variances.
• Review applications and account activity to identify discrepancies, exceptions, and items that need follow-up.
• Build, maintain, and distribute operational reports and analyses using Excel and Power BI.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities, and share findings with leadership.
• Document and update operational policies, procedures, and risk controls.
• Support audits by preparing data, providing updates, and partnering with internal risk teams.
• Test and analyze system enhancements and upgrades.
• Triage and route operational requests across partner teams.
• Support occasional account openings as needed.

Do you dig into a discrepancy until you find the answer? A leading Dallas-area bank is looking for a detail-driven Retail Operations Specialist to join its Retail Operations team.
