Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Pearland, TX is seeking an energetic retail teammate to help athletes and customers with their shopping experience. You will greet customers, understand their needs, and provide product recommendations while upholding company standards and procedures.

The role involves assisting with merchandise processing, backroom organization, safety adherence, and collaboration with the Freight Flow/Operations Lead.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales, operations, maintenance, or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to work extended periods of standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with ladder or platform.

Responsibilities

• Greet teammates and customers and proactively assist athletes to understand their needs.
• Ensure merchandise is processed per programs and backroom remains organized and accessible.
• Uphold merchandising and presentation standards across the store.
• Assist with unloading trucks, freight processing, transfers, RTVs, and claims.
• Fulfill customer experience standards by following service level guidelines.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and SOPs; maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.
• Support the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Overview

• Greet everyone (teammates and customers) and proactively approach athletes to understand their needs and support their shopping experience.
• Ensure that all merchandise and product received at the store is processed in accordance with established programs and procedures; the backroom is organized and maintained so that merchandise is easily accessible in partnership with the Freight Flow/Operations Lead.
• Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards.
• Assist with the unloading of trucks, processing of freight, execution of transfers, RTVS, claims, freight processing, etc.
• Fulfill the company-defined customer experience by completing all processes according to our service level standards.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all Company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone (teammates and customers) feels welcome, safe, and is treated with respect.
• Take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store.
