Job summary

Resolve Tech Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced Test Engineer focused on software, systems, network, and retail technology testing in Irving, TX. You will validate requirements, design comprehensive test scenarios, and drive end-to-end verification across store devices and cloud services.

The role includes building lab environments, performing connectivity and performance testing, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure quality across deployments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in test engineering, systems testing, network testing, or quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6 addressing and subnetting, TCP vs UDP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, and ICMP.
• Working knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, firewalls, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, and PoE.
• Experience understanding Change Requests, validating configurations, and testing store devices after changes.
• Experience executing connectivity, reachability, performance, failover, recovery, reliability, and stability tests.
• Ability to design diverse test scenarios (positive, negative, boundary, integration, regression).
• Hands-on experience with packet-capture tools; basic interpretation required.
• Experience using ping, traceroute, nslookup, dig for connectivity testing.
• Ability to diagnose connectivity issues across DNS, routing, firewall, and network layers.
• Ability to maintain traceability from requirements to tests to defects.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clear test evidence.

Responsibilities

• Identify business, technical, and operational risks and contribute to user story and requirement definition.
• Define, develop, and review test cases, test plans, test scenarios, and overall test strategy.
• Read and analyze network requirements and Change Requests; identify testable, ambiguous, and missing requirements.
• Convert requirements into test scenarios including boundary and regression tests.
• Build and maintain mock-store and lab environments representing real store networks and devices.
• Perform integration and functional testing of store devices after a Change Request is implemented.
• Execute connectivity, reachability, configuration, DNS, routing, firewall, port, and device-access validation.
• Perform network-performance testing including latency, packet loss, bandwidth, and response-time analysis.
• Execute network failover, recovery, reliability, and stability testing.
• Test POS applications, payment devices, scanners, cameras, printers, and cloud services.
• Capture logs, packet traces, screenshots, and performance measurements for defect analysis.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, device, network, security, and configuration layers; determine root cause.
• Manage defects through triage, prioritization, retesting, closure, and regression validation with full traceability.
• Coordinate test execution with Network Engineering, InfoSec, Store Operations, engineering teams, vendors, and AT&T.
• Support pilot-store validation, go/no-go reviews, production verification, and post-deployment issue investigation.
• Recommend wired or wireless implementation approaches based on reliability, security, bandwidth, cost, and maintainability.
• Improve repeatability through automation, scripting, and standardized test evidence.
• Demonstrate team-player mentality and SCRUM participation.
