Job summary

Winston Retail is seeking a passionate apparel merchandiser to bring fashion to life at the store level. In this independent contractor role, you’ll style mannequins and displays to reflect brand identity and attract shoppers, working hands-on across stores.

You’ll report progress, manage scheduling, and stay on top of project deadlines with our Winston App. The position emphasizes detail, creativity, and effective communication while offering a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work on

Qualifications

• Experience in apparel merchandising or related field preferred.
• Experience working with mannequins (assembling, updating, styling).
• Familiarity with planograms and visual directives.
• Attention to detail and creativity in presenting apparel displays.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement merchandising strategies aligned with company standards.
• Execute planograms to optimize product placement and maximize sales.
• Communicate merchandising needs with team and store management.
• Work independently and as part of a team across different stores.
• Manage monthly scheduling to ensure store visits and deliverables meet deadlines.
• Submit store visit reports with before/after photos and feedback via Winston App.
• Reporting via smartphones (IOS iPhone 11+; Android 2020+ with recent OS).
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand during shifts.

Job Overview

Winston Retail is seeking a passionate, detail-driven apparel merchandiser to bring fashion to life at the store level. As an apparel merchandiser, you'll ensure clothing is styled, organized, and presented to reflect brand identity and attract shoppers. Working hands‑on in stores, you'll be responsible for styling mannequins and displays to create a polished, trend-forward shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies that align with company standards
• Execute planograms to optimize product placement and maximize sales with apparel and hardline merchandise
• Communicate effectively with team members and store management regarding merchandising needs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in different store settings
• Manage monthly scheduling to ensure store visits and merchandising deliverables are completed by assigned deadlines, demonstrating strong time management and accountability
• Submit store visit reports, including taking before and after photos and writing feedback, using our Winston App on a smart device
• Smartphones are required for reporting:
  • IOS: Use an iPhone 11 or newer
  • Android: Use a 2020 or newer device with an OS no more than four versions behind the latest
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for the entire shift

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in apparel merchandising or a related field is preferred
• Experience working with mannequins (assembling, updating, and styling)
• A portfolio of work is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with planograms and visual directives is essential
• A keen eye for detail and creativity in presenting apparel displays
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
