Job summary

Staples in Rutland, Vermont is seeking Merchandising & Inventory Supervisors to lead sales floor merchandising, inventory controls, back-room operations, and customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. You will coach a team and help drive store performance.

Responsibilities include planograms, truck unloading, stock maintenance, and acting as Manager on Duty when scheduled. Staples offers growth, benefits, and a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Process inventory controls such as Zero Balance, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, Cross Channel Returns, Reserve online pick up in store.
• Unload trucks, sort, stock, and maintain stock levels.
• Execute weekly planograms and seasonal promo merchandising changeover.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Understand and utilize basic selling skills to engage customers and present solutions.
• Provide an inviting environment by maintaining a neat store; perform cashier, returns, and online reservations.
• Provide store leadership as Manager on Duty when scheduled.
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned.

Play a central role in helping your store, your people and your customers win.

• Process accurate and efficient inventory controls: Zero Balance, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, Cross Channel Returns, Reserve online pick up in store
• Execute all product activities including truck unloading, sorting, stocking, and maintaining stock levels
• Execute Weekly Planograms and seasonal promo merchandising changeover

Essential Skills And Experience

• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs
• Has a clear understanding of merchandising and retail operations
• Experience managing and coaching a team and/or supervising others
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
• Ability to handle many priorities and to multitask effectively with limited or no supervision
• Ability to lift, push or pull materials in the 100-pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Preferred but not required: key holder experience within a retail environment
