Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an experienced Retail Merchandiser/Cashier to drive sales by managing point-of-purchase displays and accurate shelf presentation. You will ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time, while providing friendly customer service.

In this role you will handle transactions, receipts, and basic store operations. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion

We are looking for an experienced Retail Merchandiser/Cashier to produce sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services. You will get the right product, in the right place, time, quantity, and price.

Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, gift-wrapping packages and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. You should also be available to take evening and weekend shifts occasionally.

Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.

Retail Merchandiser Duties and Responsibilities

• Build, stock, and maintain displays according to a planogram
• Recognize spatial opportunities within a store to create beautiful displays that move key products
• Track display stock levels to determine effectiveness and reordering needs
• Liaise with retail workers and managers to address needs and further realize merchandising possibilities
• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
• Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
• Collect payments whether in cash or credit
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
• Bag, box or gift-wrap packages
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
