Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing GameStop. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
• Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Process purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
• Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally to ensure top-tier guest service.
• Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
• Keep all store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
• Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
• Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required.
• Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products to ensure representation and organization on the selling floor.
• Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits; ensure sufficient cash and change for transactions.
• Check shipments for discrepancies, report to Store Manager as needed.
• Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
• Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management.
• Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
• Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance, providing timely feedback as needed.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.
• Must be able to work alone, stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

• Follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability.
• Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs to a height of at least 4 feet; stand and move up to 10 hours per day.
