Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and thank guests for choosing GameStop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
• Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
• Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly, courteously, and professionally.
• Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
• Ensure store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines. Ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
• Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
• Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices.
• Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products from stock to front-of-store to keep products represented and organized.
• Support management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system. Ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed correctly. Assist management in maintaining sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits following guidelines.
• Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report discrepancies to the Store Manager as needed.
• Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls, ensuring labeling and packing lists are correct.
• Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management.
• Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening and closing procedures.
• Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.
• Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

• Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.
