Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Retail Donation Attendant for the Manhattan Store - Poyntz team. The role offers an hourly full-time schedule with a starting rate of $15.50 per hour and a monthly bonus potential up to $250.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS diploma preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with coworkers, customers and management.
• Be organized and able to interact with a diverse workforce.
• Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service, greet donors, assist with drop-offs, and issue tax receipts and donation incentives.
• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Sort donated and purchased goods into categories (sales floor, seasonal, online, outlet, trash).
• Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate donations.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Stock, straighten, rotate, and clean the store area.
• Keep store area clean by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally.
• Follow safe work practices and keep walkways debris-free.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard assets and report theft or security incidents.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus Up to $250.00

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
• Handles all donations with care and respect.
• Sorts donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
• Notifies management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
• Maintains high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Stocks straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
• Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus Up to $250.00
