Job summary

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries in Leawood, KS, is seeking an energetic Retail Donation Attendant to join our ADC - Leawood team. This hourly, full-time position supports our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work," by delivering friendly donor interactions and efficient donation processing.

You will handle donations with care, sort goods, maintain store cleanliness, and assist customers, with a monthly bonus up to $250 and comprehensive benefits for eligible full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Effective communication with customers, donors and staff.
• Able to stay organized and interact with diverse teams.
• Basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service, greet donors, assist with drop-offs and issue tax receipts.
• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Sort donated/purchased goods into categories (sales floor, seasonal, online, outlet, trash).
• Notify management of hazardous or inappropriate donations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area.
• Uphold safety and security, follow policies and dress code.

Qualifications

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
• Handles all donations with care and respect.
• Sorts donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
• Notifies management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
• Maintains high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Stocks straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
• Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus Up to $250.00
