Job summary

The Cake is seeking an experienced Freelance Retail Merchandising Designer to support creative projects for established consumer brands. This role is 100% remote, with compensation up to $55/hour, DOE, and approximately 5–20 hours per week.

Our client is seeking an experienced Retail Merchandising Designer to support creative projects for established consumer brands. We're building a network of talented freelancers for upcoming and ongoing client opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Develop innovative retail merchandising concepts and branded consumer experiences.
• Create compelling visual concepts for CPG, alcoholic beverage, and quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands.
• Translate brand strategy into engaging, consumer-facing retail designs.
• Collaborate with creative teams to deliver high-quality client work.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional retail merchandising design experience.
• Proven experience working with real clients in CPG, alcoholic beverages, and/or QSR.
• Strong conceptual portfolio demonstrating creative thinking and execution.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate remotely.
• Availability during Eastern Time (EST/ET) business hours.
• Compensation: Up to $55/hour, depending on experience.
• Schedule: Approximately 5–20 hours per week, based on project needs.
