Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer service-focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating activities in the Store, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services. The Store Consultant will operate and maintain various equipment, move boxes and equipment, stock materials, manage the production queue and output, oversee complex projects, manage retail supplies, and complete tasks based on priority.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

People

  • Follow instructions from supervisors and assist team members in store functions
  • Assist in training store team members

Service

  • Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individual needs
  • Provide expertise in printing, signs & graphics, and shipping, recommending suitable products and services
  • Ensure an outstanding customer service experience by anticipating needs, suggesting alternatives, and resolving issues promptly
  • Handle complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing
  • Assemble parcels, prepare goods for shipping, and affix labels
  • Set up and operate printing, binding, and related equipment using customer media
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment

Profit

  • Handle customer data confidentially and manage documents, media, and packages carefully
  • Process transactions via POS, including cash handling
  • Maintain and repair printing and shipping equipment and supplies
  • Ensure proper display of retail merchandise and signage
  • Prevent errors and waste proactively
  • Complete financial paperwork, assist with sales reports, close-outs, and deposits
  • Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to all policies and safety regulations

Self-Management

  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Seek opportunities to improve knowledge and skills
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to all FedEx Office standards as outlined in the handbook
  • Perform other duties as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months of specialized experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meet all employment qualifications at the time of hiring
  • Meet transfer and hiring criteria for current employees

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Stand for entire shift, excluding breaks
  • Lift and move up to 55 pounds
  • Bend and twist regularly
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Work cooperatively and follow instructions
  • Perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain attention and focus for extended periods
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain regular attendance and support store hours
