Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a Front-of-Store Leader for TJ Maxx Middletown NJ. You will oversee Associates, help maintain high-quality customer service, and promote loyalty programs while ensuring store operations run smoothly.

You’ll train staff, manage POS coverage, and support management in daily priorities. This role requires flexibility, merchandising know-how, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends required.
• Strong understanding of merchandising techniques.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced store environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Able to adapt to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Team player, works well with peers and supervisors.
• Experience training others in front-end principles.
• At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Promote an excellent customer experience and lead by example at the front of the store.
• Oversee Associates, assign registers, and coordinate breaks.
• Promote loyalty programs and conduct staff training on customer service.
• Address customer concerns promptly and maintain a positive environment.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support management in training needs and store-wide priorities.
• Promote shrink reduction goals and safety practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience. Oversees a team of Associates at front of store ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs. Leads by example by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. Role models outstanding customer service.

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Takes an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front end principles
• Trains and coaches Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs
• Assigns registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates
• Addresses customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience
• Ensures Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
• Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned
