Job summary

Family Dollar in Effingham, SC is hiring a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at the register, stock shelves, unload deliveries, and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

This role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and prior customer service experience. You must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must lift 30–50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and unload trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
