Macy's is seeking a Customer Experience Colleague to create personalized shopping experiences in-store and online, driving cross-category sales with a fashion-forward focus. You will build client relationships, leverage My Client and social tools, and collaborate with peers and brand partners to elevate service and outcomes.
You will support floor readiness, event execution, and merchandise setup while delivering high-caliber service with a positive attitude and strong communication.
Macy's is more than just a store. We're a story. One that's captured the hearts and minds of America for more than 160 years. A story about innovations and traditions, about inspiring stores and irresistible products, about the excitement of the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks, and the wonder of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. We've been part of memorable moments and milestones for countless customers and colleagues. Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.
As a Customer Experience Colleague, you will create exceptional, personalized shopping experiences for our customers. You'll prioritize customer satisfaction by actively engaging with shoppers across all touchpoints – both in-store and online – and drive cross-category sales to support overall business goals. With a deep understanding of fashion, fit, and function, you will make tailored product recommendations and leverage digital tools to enhance the customer journey. You also will work across different departments daily, often transitioning between multiple areas throughout the day. In this role, you'll also play a key part in client relationship building through outreach tools like My Client and social media. Your collaborative approach with peers, store leaders, and brand partners will help identify opportunities, resolve challenges, and elevate the overall customer experience. In addition to service and selling, you'll support operational excellence through floor readiness, event execution, merchandise setup, and opening/closing procedures. A positive, can‑do attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-caliber service will be key to your success in this role.
Our colleagues begin each day energized and ready to make an impact. They wear their name badge with pride, greet teammates with a warm hello, and help ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers. Before getting started, they review their sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top-selling items, and stay up to date on current trends and promotions – so they're fully informed and ready to engage, educate, and sell with confidence.
On the floor, they focus on the customer – offering a warm welcome, making eye contact, and creating friendly, personal conversations to create customer relationships to bring the customers back.
Throughout the day, they maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, and supporting any needed merchandise moves.
They always finish strong – sharing our Loyalty program benefits, making sure customers have all they need, and ending with a sincere thank-you, often walking the package around and using the customer's name.
We believe service starts with each other – supporting one another with honesty, care, and collaboration so we can better serve our customers and communities.
And we know that excellence is a journey – we strive to improve every day, take pride in our work, achieve sales goals and learn from each other to deliver individual and store results.
