Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a retail teammate in Winston-Salem, NC. You will assist customers, maintain plan‑o‑grams, stock merchandise, and support store operations to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

You will greet customers, operate the cash register, process transactions, and help with merchandising and cleaning tasks as needed. This role requires basic math, cash handling, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read plan-o-grams and merchandising guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive/unpack cartons and totes.
• Store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor; build displays.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise on shelves; restock recovered items.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep store clean: front end, restrooms, stockroom; bale cardboard; take out trash.
• Comply with company policies; greet customers and help setup sidewalk displays.
