Retail Construction Manager — Store Openings & Cost Control

Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead end-to-end construction of new retail stores, from design through openings. You will drive budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and coordination with GC, vendors, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality stores that elevate the brand and sales.

The role requires frequent site travel and proactive problem solving to ensure on-time turnover and zero punch lists.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Retail Store.
• Manage the budget associated with the project.
• Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing.
• Manage the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates.
• Manage warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when/as necessary.
• Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project.
• Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed.
• Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership.
• Develop cost savings solutions and identify project savings/underruns early.
• Partner with the General Contractor and other Vendors to build collaborative relationships.
• Partner with Internal Cross Functional Partners to build collaborative relationships.
• Coordinate needs and asks with the Procurement/Sourcing group(s) to support the needs of the Project.
• Support the pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects.
• Promote prefabrication strategies.
• Support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Construction Rough Order of Magnitude estimates.
• Support the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to Facilities Operations.
• 50% travel to Meta Retail sites
• Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies
