Job summary

Busy Beaver is seeking a courteous Retail Cashier in Pittsburgh to provide friendly, accurate checkout experiences. You will process payments, keep the area tidy, and help customers with inquiries while promoting loyalty programs.

The role welcomes individuals who enjoy fast-paced environments and teamwork, with evening and weekend availability and a friendly, helpful attitude that supports the store's community focus.

Qualifications

• Strong time management skills to ensure efficient checkout.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
• Friendly, courteous, and customer service–oriented personality.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Team player who enjoys working with others.
• Experience in electronics, jewelry, or technical sales is a plus.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and accurately handle cash, credit, and other transactions.
• Scan and process customer purchases quickly and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
• Answer customer questions and resolve issues or complaints in a professional manner.
• Promote store loyalty programs and special promotions.
• Direct customers to sales associates for additional assistance.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking shelves as needed.
• Open and close registers daily, following policy and POS system procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
