Job summary

Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking a front-line cashier at our Thousand Oaks store to deliver exceptional customer service and manage the POS system. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and ensure a smooth shopping experience while maintaining a clean, organized sales floor.

Responsibilities include handling cash, answering inquiries, and promoting products with add-ons. The role may require light lifting and adherence to store policies, including E-Verify.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming and assisting customers during entry and exit.
• Direction of sales associates using the PA system.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.

Role Overview

Cashiers play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experience. The primary responsibilities include operating and managing the front counter point-of-sale (POS) system while ensuring asmoothpleasant shopping experience for every customer.

Primary Duties

• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming andassistingcustomers during entry and exit, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Direction of sales associates using the PA system
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales
• Cash-handling and bagging of purchased merchandise

Position Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
• Mustpossessbasic organizational and/or applicable math skills
• Detail-oriented and reliable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus
