Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is hiring a Retail Cashier for the Ozark store. You will greet customers, assist on the sales floor, and manage transactions with the register, while keeping the store neat and welcoming. This full-time position includes a competitive hourly rate and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and teammates.

• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist on the sales floor.
• Operate the store cash register and handle cash/credit transactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandise presentation.
• Answer phones with professional greeting within three rings.
• Process returns, exchanges, and customer complaints with supervisor assistance.
• Uphold safety and security standards; report incidents as needed.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Assist with cross-functional communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Make customers a priority by greeting and acknowledging them as they enter the store, helping on the sales floor, and answering the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
• Operates the store cash register: cash handling credit card transactions, appropriate discount returns, and cash register balancing.
• Stocks straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
• Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation.
• Contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus up to $250.00
• Individual and family medical benefits for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week.
