MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Cashier to join our Centralia Store team. Qualifications
- No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Effective communication skills with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Organizational skills and ability to interact with a diverse work population.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge customers entering the store, assist on the sales floor, and answer the phone professionally within three rings.
- Operate the store cash register, handle cash and credit card transactions, process discounts and returns, and balance the register.
- Maintain store cleanliness by stocking, straightening, rotating inventory, and cleaning surfaces.
- Assist with returns, exchanges, and customer complaints by requesting manager support.
- Uphold store cleanliness standards through sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Build positive, professional relationships with team members and leadership; collaborate cross-functionally to enhance communication.
- Practice safe work habits, be aware of hazards, and maintain a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles clear.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with MERS/Goodwill dress code.
- Protect agency assets, including cash, donated, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft; report incidents of theft or unauthorized possession.
- Comply with all MERS/Goodwill policies, retail procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
