Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Kentucky is seeking a Business Analyst to identify and document business needs, translate requirements, and bridge IT with business units to standardize systems and processes.

You will lead SDLC activities, gather requirements, design functional specs, support testing, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive improvements and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field and 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work with technical staff and business process owners.
• Experience as a Project Manager.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of SQL, Visio, and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Leads and conducts design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and support of strategic projects using the SDLC.
• Assists with requirements gathering, system configuration, data cleansing/conversion, training, and deployment.
• Develops functional designs (FDDs), data models, interfaces, and security requirements.
• Performs System Testing and tracks issues identified through resolution.
• Develops UAT plans and test scenarios and manages execution.
• Provides first and second level production support for various systems including ServiceNow incidents.
• Manages requirements and functional design through lifecycle and documents changes.
• Liaises between end-users and IT for analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance.
• Influences process and organizational continuous improvements.

Job Summary

Responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of various business units, to include understanding their structure, processes, and operations, and interpreting their rules, requirements, and workflows to help the business achieve their goals and resolve their business challenges via information technology solutions. The goal is to achieve a higher level of standardization, centralization, and simplification across key systems and business processes which significantly impact operations from end to end. This role acts as a liaison between the business and technology functions of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)

• Leads and conducts design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and support of strategic projects utilizing the defined software development life cycle (SDLC). Identify and recommend areas of process improvements by analyzing industry and company best practices.
• Participates in the deployment of IT solutions to include requirements gathering, system configuration, data cleansing/conversion, training, and deployment.
• Assists with developing functional designs (FDD’s) to include logical data model, system interfaces, and security requirements, and reviews with and obtains stakeholder approvals.
• Performs System Testing and reports and tracks issues identified through resolution.
• Develops user acceptance test plans and test scenarios and manages the execution of UAT. Documents test results and monitors and reports testing results and status.
• Perform first and second level production support for various systems, including analysis and resolution of assigned ServiceNow incidents.
• Manages requirements and functional design through entire lifecycle - tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
• Leads and conducts definition, documentation, testing, training, implementation, and support of system requirements on assigned projects. Manages issues and reports status to assigned Project Manager.
• Liaison between departmental end-users and IT in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of information systems to ensure optimal operational performance.
• Influences and contributes to process and organizational continuous improvements.

SCOPE & IMPACT

This role supports multiple internal and external systems and technology bases. Responsibilities include support of functional areas across multiple disciplines, and divisions. Also has responsibility for leading & mentoring less experienced Business Analysts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience. Ability to effectively work with both technical staff and business process owners
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SQL, business process modeling
• Travel Required: Up to 15%
