The successful candidate will engage customers with passion for cycling, maintain department presentation, and assist with merchandise setup and safety procedures as part of a collaborative store team.

Qualifications

• Experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work extended periods of time standing or walking.

Responsibilities

• Create a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and engaging customers in bicycle sales.
• Uphold standards for merchandise presentation in the Bike Department.
• Demonstrate passion and knowledge about cycling to help customers.
• Promote programs including warranty sales, loyalty Scorecard, credit options, and seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bikes per established procedures and assist with assembly of equipment.
• Maintain signage and presentation to company standards.
• Follow safety, loss prevention and SOPs, and protect company information.
• Support the team across the store as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

OVERVIEW

The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. The BikeTech is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures. This individual will pull from personal experiences and industry research and trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the customer's needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department.
• Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation.
• Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport or activity.
• Promote company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private‑label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bikes in accordance with established procedures. Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage of Bike Department to Company standards as directed.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all Company information.
• Takes an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach to support the team across the store.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience of building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
• Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
