DICK’S Sporting Goods in Mason, OH seeks a Bike Technician to provide exceptional customer service while building and repairing bicycles in-store. You will offer strong product recommendations, engage with customers in the Bike Department, and drive sales through knowledge and passion for cycling.

The role emphasizes following procedures, promoting warranties and loyalty programs, and supporting team goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience of building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
• Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.

• Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation.
• Demonstrate ability to interact with customers with passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport.
• Promote warranty sales, Scorecard loyalty program, private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bikes following established procedures; assist with assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
• Maintain Bike Department signage and presentation to Company standards.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs; keep Company information confidential.
• Takes an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Overview

The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. The Bike Tech is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures. This individual will pull from personal experiences and industry research and trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the customer’s needs.

• Create a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department.
• Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation.
• Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge,
• dedication, and commitment in their sport or activity.
• Promote company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bikes in accordance with established procedures. Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
• Maintains merchandise presentation standards and signage of Bike Department to Company standards as directed.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all Company information.
• Takes an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Targeted Pay Range: $12.50 - $19.50. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered.
