Job summary

The position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge and may involve weekend/extended hours to support branch operations. Bilingual Spanish is preferred; prior sales and cash-handling experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Two years of superior customer service experience.
• Sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Six months of cash handling experience.
• Experience in financial services and knowledge of products and solutions.
• Notary Public is preferred (not for Puerto Rico locations).
• Bilingual-Spanish preferred.

Job Overview

PenFed is hiring a Retail Banker to work onsite at our DOE Independence Financial Center located in Washington, DC. The primary purpose of this job is to extend member relationships by offering appropriate financial solutions and services to meet our members' needs. The incumbent will also train to conduct cash transactions and will be asked to process transactions both accurately and efficiently as needed.

This PenFed Financial Center is located within the Department of Energy building located at 1000 Independence Ave SW in Washington, DC. A requirement for this position is the ability to obtain a badge issued by the Department of Energy to have full building access. Although not a PenFed policy/requirement, the Department of Energy's policy, as has been communicated to PenFed, is that non-U.S. citizens are not eligible for badge access at the Department of Energy Building.

• Provide support to other branches to include working weekends and/or extended hours as required to operate the business.
• Maintain high level of proficiency in operating all internal PenFed systems or platforms to include but limited to SalesForce, PenTeller, Knowledge, Hogan, inbound calls network, etc. to support needs of members, and business.
• Support additional PenFed initiatives to support needs of members, and business.
• If Notary Public, will be responsible for providing members Notary Services while adhering to all state laws/regulations related to the notarization of documents.
• Provide in-bound call support, where required.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

• Associate Degree in a related field such as business management, business administration, or finance.
• Minimum of two (2) years of superior customer service required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated successful sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of at least six (6) months of cash handling experience.
• Experience in financial services and knowledge of financial services industry, products and solutions.
• Valid Notary Public, preferred (not applicable for Puerto Rico locations).
• Previous phone based customer service experience, preferred.
• Bilingual-Spanish preferred.
• Experience using A.I. tools preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated starting hourly range for this role is $21.00 - $23.00

This position is eligible for an organizational performance based annual bonus, subject to board discretion and approval.

This position is eligible for an individual performance based annual bonus.
