Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store associate to act as the frontline contact for customers, stock and rotate merchandise, and help maintain plan-of-grams and displays. You will assist shoppers, ring up purchases, and ensure accurate pricing and paperwork while upholding store policies.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, build displays, and keep the store clean and welcoming. This role requires customer service orientation and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; store on stock room or floor.
• Build merchandise displays; rotate and face items on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Greet customers and comply with store policies.
• Clean store areas and set up sidewalk displays as needed.
