Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet Minnesota is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to join our Coastal Seafood Stores team in Minnesota. You will greet customers, assist with product questions, cut and pack orders, and handle payments at the point of sale. Prior food preparation experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding service in a welcoming environment.
• Assist customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information for appropriate alternatives.
• Develop and maintain ongoing product knowledge to provide additional value to customers.
• Receive deliveries and rotate product accordingly.
• Assist in various housekeeping and merchandising duties, including monitoring, maintaining, and servicing the seafood display case.
• Maintain a clean work area to ensure the highest standards of sanitation.
• Contribute suggestions to continuous improvement of the retail operation.
• Manage telephone calls professionally, efficiently and with effective communication skills.
• Effectively manage time and organize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Exhibit ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Handle product properly to ensure maximum shelf life and sanitation.
• Inform supervisor of any product or safety concerns.
• Clean-up work station and department at the end of shift.
• Communicate quality issues to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for achieving sales goals by sharing your knowledge and passion of our seafood products in a polite, professional and efficient manner. The position requires the delivery of exceptional customer service, including but not limited to providing a comfortable shopping experience, greeting customers, cutting and packing orders, answering questions, point-of-sale entry and handling payments.
