Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Burlington, VT is seeking a store leader to supervise Team Members and oversee inventory, merchandising, and daily store operations to deliver sales and profits.

You will lead staffing, ensure SOP compliance, manage freight and inventory processes, and oversee planogram execution, omni-channel merchandise, shrink and safety programs, and serve as Manager on Duty. This role requires strong retail leadership, excellent customer service, and availability for nights,

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager to deliver sales plan/profit plan and other KPIs in conjunction with annual objectives; manage the store team to achieve KPI’s.
• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs; ensure execution of policies and standards; hold team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Hire, train and evaluate Team Members; identify talent and develop Team Members and other Department Managers for advancement; use leadership competencies for development.
• Coach Team Members and, where necessary, lead performance management/disciplinary processes.
• Plan workload; assist in scheduling and execution of store workload; supervise Team Members, including vacation scheduling and time off approvals.
• Lead and manage freight flow to ensure truck standards are followed; lead and manage inventory management processes; oversee planogram execution.
• Lead and manage merchandise operations to include omni channel; lead and manage shrink and safety programs.
• Oversee visual merchandising standards and seasonal layouts; interact with others positively; promote the organization’s vision and values; serve as a role model; act as Manager on Duty (MOD).

Store - BURLINGTON, VT

Provide a well merchandised and well in-stock store by supervising and leading and supporting Team Members in their implementation of our inventory management processes. Lead the operational processes to deliver sales and profits while protecting our assets. Assist in supervising and leading a team of well-trained Team Members to deliver a customer centric shopping experience.

Major Activities

• Assist the Store Manager to deliver sales plan/profit plan and other KPIs in conjunction with our annual performance objectives; manage the store team to achieve their role KPI’s


• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Company programs to ensure compliance to applicable laws and requirements; ensure execution of Company policies and standards; hold team accountable for store conditions and results


• Hire, train and evaluate Team Members to achieve results; identify talent and develop Team Members and other Department Managers for advancement; utilize the leadership competencies for continued self-development


• Coach Team Members, and where necessary, lead the performance management/disciplinary process of Team Members.


• Workload planning, assist the Store Manager with planning, scheduling and execution of store workload, supervising and directing Team Members, including scheduling their hours of work, vacation scheduling and approving time off.


• Lead and manage freight flow process to ensure truck standards are followed


• Lead and manage the inventory management processes in store


• Oversee planogram (POG) execution


• Lead and manage merchandise operations to include omni channel


• Lead and manage shrink and safety programs.


• Oversee the visual merchandising standards in store and execution of feature space and seasonal layouts

• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time


• Ability to move throughout the store


• regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching

Work Environment

• Public retail store setting supervising Team Members and taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work; Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press; work hours include nights, weekends and early mornings

Total Base Pay Range for this Position

$23.70 - $29.60

This position may be eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with state and local laws.
