Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an Assistant Retail Operations Manager to oversee multiple Gift Shop and Gift Kiosk locations in Hawaii. You will lead staff, manage payroll, train teams, and ensure compliance with laws while maximizing sales and maintaining standards.

The role requires strong leadership, merchandising, and customer service skills, with a focus on inventory control and POS reliability. This on-site position offers benefits and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

  • Two to Three years Retail Management experience preferred.
  • Visual Merchandise experience necessary.
  • All education backgrounds eligible, must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

  • Show dynamic leadership ability and motivate staff to exceed expectations of the customer and our client.
  • Hire & recruit for new talent; integrate new team members; supervise personnel.
  • Evaluate performance, develop, coach, issue documentation, and manage employee exits.
  • Develop training programs to train, motivate, and mentor employees.
  • Remain knowledgeable of and manage in accordance with applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Uphold and demonstrate a complete understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Live out 452 Hospitality by delivering warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences for every guest and client.
  • Support store leadership in management of all inventory control programs as necessary.
  • Ensure all merchandise presentation standards are met to maximize sales.
  • Complete daily department functions in reporting daily, weekly and monthly sales through an internal Ledger.
  • Ensure sales are maximized through having the right product and communicating inventory opportunities to the Retail Operations Manager and Buyer.
  • Ensure all cash handling procedures are in effect at all times; troubleshoot and maintain POS functionality for daily operation.
  • Oversee cleanliness of all shops and displays.
  • Forecast daily/weekly sales and manage payroll within budget; schedule coverage and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Analyze sales and inventory to maximize opportunities and identify new ways to achieve goals.
  • Set precedent to achieve Sales, Promo, Per Cap & Controllable Budget.
  • Promote an inclusive & supportive approach at the Unit.
  • Supports unit in being an example for Company & Client guidelines with regard to Sustainability/Conservation efforts.
  • Supports SSA / Unit in driving community effort through hiring efforts, engagement activities, and focus on giving back.

Position Title: Assistant Retail Operations Manager

Reports to: Retail Operations Manager

Responsibilities

  • Ensure your department’s team is set with the operation in mind: hire & recruit for new talent, integrate new team members, supervise assigned personnel, evaluate performance, develop, coach, issue documentation, and manage employee exits.

Meet & manage department payroll budget expectations by being strategic with scheduling coverage, on-call shifts, etc.

  • Analyze sales and inventory to maximize opportunities. Identify new ways to generate sales and achieve goals.

Job Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate to our client, Management team, Buyer and HQ personnel.

  • Proven leadership skills with an understanding of the importance of team building/development, while fostering partnerships.

  • Exceptional problem solving/decision making skills combined with the ability to be organized.

  • Demonstrates financial management, merchandising, analytical, and planning skills.

  • Demonstrates the ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.

  • Computer knowledge and skill level for basic office functions.

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes (35lbs) as necessary to operation, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.

  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Previous Experience
  • Two to Three years Retail Management experience preferred.

  • Visual Merchandise experience necessary.

  • All education backgrounds eligible, must be 18 or older.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Full-Time, non-exempt, eligible for overtime pay.
