Job summary

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Steamboat Store retail rental shop. The role focuses on retail department leadership, guest service, and daily store operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position is flex year-round with year-round benefits; 2 months with lower business may limit scheduled hours. Base pay ranges showcase the Steamboat hourly market and may vary with experience.

Qualifications

• 2-year experience in a related retail shop.
• 1-year guest service experience required.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must feel comfortable using information systems including sales programs and Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional people and language skills.
• Prompt, accurate and professional judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Mathematical skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Must maintain a professional and well-respected rental-retail operation.
• Must possess guest service skills to ensure quality customer service standards.
• Must be extremely detail oriented and self-motivated.
• Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management.
• Be a consistent role model for company's Service Excellence standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Shop Manager.
• Work schedule front line shifts, ringing up retail sales, keep store(s) stocked with products, merchandising, maintain product knowledge.
• Identify and supervise staff on equipment or facility maintenance projects.
• Staff management including scheduling, training, teambuilding, coaching, and disciplinary action.
• Must work under stressful situations while maintaining good customer relations.
• Communicate directly with guests regarding issues and concerns.
• Maintaining proper inventory levels for expected guest volume.
• Under direction of the Store Manager, administer budget and labor decisions.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The shops at Steamboat are looking for an Assistant Manager with at least one year of guest service and rental/retail experience required. This position will be working in our fast paced Retail Rental shop - The Steamboat Store, focusing on our retail department. We are looking for prompt, accurate and professional folks who are self-motivated and positive at all times. If you like to be challenged and like to continual learn new things than this is the role for you.

This is a Flex Year-Round position, which means that you will work 10 out of 12 months in the year. This also means that Year-Round benefits apply, however there are 2 months during the year when business levels are lower, and scheduled hours will not be provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Mathematical skills - Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percent’s.
• Must maintain a professional and well-respected rental-retail operation.
• Must possess guest service skills to ensure that quality and consistent customer service standards are met.
• Must be extremely detail oriented and self-motivated
• Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards
• Problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma and GED equivalent

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $23.00 - $24.50 per hour
