Job summary

Our client, a leading AmLaw firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Practice Group in a hybrid capacity in New York, NY. The role focuses on complex domestic and cross-border restructurings, distressed financings, and special situations transactions.

The candidate should have 3–7 years of substantive restructuring experience, JD from a top-tier law school, and active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3–7 years of substantive experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and/or special situations finance.
• Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings and related transactions.
• Experience representing creditors, debtors, sponsors, or financial institutions in distressed scenarios.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex restructuring and insolvency matters, in and out of court.
• Advise creditors, debtors, and investors in distressed financings.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, restructuring support agreements, and related documents.
• Support liability management transactions, recapitalizations, and distressed M&A opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys.
