Job summary

Maya Angelou Schools and See Forever Foundation is seeking a Special Education Teacher/Case Manager to support students at the New Beginnings Youth Development Center. The role emphasizes individualized instruction, IEP development, and case management within a secure facility.

The position requires delivering multi-grade instruction across English/ELA, math, science, and history, while ensuring compliance with IDEA and district standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IDEA and IEP development.
• Experience working with justice-involved youth (preferred).
• Must have or be eligible for initial certification by OSSE in the appropriate content area (must obtain initial certification within 1 year of employment).

Responsibilities

• Deliver multi-grade, multi-content instruction across English/ELA, math, science and history.
• Serve as case manager for students with IEPs and ensure compliance with IDEA.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment using restorative practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and facility staff to deliver a well-rounded educational program.
