Job summary

Diversicare in Meridian, MS, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide restorative nursing techniques to residents, aiming to improve quality of life through structured treatment modalities.

Responsibilities include implementing programs (ROM, strengthening, ambulation, ADLs, whirlpools), documenting daily on treatment grids, communicating with therapy staff, and serving as a resident advocate within a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Certification from the state, where required.
• Good communication skills with the ability to read and write English.
• Ability to document appropriately and perform technical procedures.
• Genuine caring for and interest in resident.
• A strong belief in the Restorative Nursing Philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Performs restorative nursing programs as identified, to improve residents' quality of life.
• Documents daily on treatment grids and weekly progress notes.
• Notifies appropriate staff of problems or need for reassessment.
• Reports to Director of Nursing and charts significant changes.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the nursing team, you will provide restorative nursing techniques to those residents assigned to improve the resident’s quality of life through structured treatment modalities. Responsibilities include:

1. Performs programs on all identified residents. To include but not limited to:

• Range of motion (passive/active)
• General strengthening exercises
• Ambulation and transfer training
• ADL’s
• Nursing whirlpools as assigned
• Placement of restorative devices and equipment
• Positioning
• Restorative feeding program

2. Document daily on treatment grid and weekly on progress notes.

3.Notifies restorative nurse coordinator or appropriate therapy departmentof problems, referrals or reassessments needed.

4. Reports to the Director of Nursing and charts significant change in resident’s condition or motivational level.

5. Reinforces team management of B/B program and works with nurse aides on B/B procedures.

6. Attends meetings and in-services as required.

7. Serves as a resident advocate at all times. Motivates others.
