The position requires a state-approved CNA program completion and at least two years of CNA experience, with knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy. A minimum of 12 hours of continuing education is required to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program is required.
• Two years' experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing philosophy and procedures is required.
• Must attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education programs provided by the nursing center in order to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate restorative nursing progress documentation records on all patients participating in the restorative program.
• Participate in the patient care planning process.
• Train other direct care staff in restorative techniques, equipment, and the application of splints, braces, prosthetic appliances, and self-help devices to assure proper application and usage.
• Notify nursing and/or rehabilitation therapy of patients who may be experiencing a change in their level of functioning.
