Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide quality restorative care to assist patients/residents in attaining and maintaining optimum function in alignment with restorative plans. The role reports to the Restorative Nurse/Nursing Administration and emphasizes direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA certification in Illinois/Indiana or able to become certified within 120 days.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate in English with patients, co-workers, families, and the public.
• Ability to learn and use current technology.
• One year of long-term care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing assistant functions or complete restorative coursework within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the Restorative Nurse for the development of the restorative care program.
• Assist with implementation of restorative interventions including ROM, activities of daily living (ADLs), assistive feeding devices, splints, hand splints, and bladder retraining.
• Participate in care plan conferences as directed.
• Complete restorative documentation related to resident participation and progress.
• Work with appropriate departments to ensure assistive devices are available and used.
• Train and monitor staff on the use of patient/resident-specific devices and transfer equipment.
• Assist restorative nurse in providing staff education and competencies related to restorative care.
• Report observations and other pertinent information related to care of patients/residents to appropriate staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Restorative Nurse, ADON or DON.

ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDETHEFOLLOWING:

• Providesinput totheRestorativeNurseforthedevelopmentoftherestorative careprogram.
• AssistswithImplementationofnursingrestorativeinterventionsasdirectedbyrestorativenurseincludingbutnotlimitedtoambulation,rangeofmotion(ROM), activitiesofdailyliving(AOL),assistivefeedingdevices,splints,handcones/contracturecare,andbladderretraining.
• Participatesincareplanconferencesasdirected.
• Completesrestorativedocumentation relatedtoindividualresident'sparticipation,progress,tolerance,etc.
• Workswithappropriatedepartmentstoensureassistivedevicesareconsistently availableandutilizedonassignedpatients/residents.
• Trainsandmonitorsotherministrystaffonuseofpatient/residentspecificassistivedevicesandtransferequipment.
• Assists restorativenurseinprovidingstaffeducationandcompetencies relatedto restorativecare.
• Reportsobservationsandotherpertinentinformationrelatedtocareofpatients/residentstoappropriatestaff.
• Performsother duties as assigned by the RestorativeNurse,ADONorDON.
