Job summary

SERVPRO is hiring a Restoration Technician in Martinsville, VA to perform water extraction, structural drying, and cleanup for homes and businesses affected by disasters. You will work with a team to mitigate damage and restore properties to a safe condition.

The role requires physical work, on-call availability, and a commitment to safety with PPE. Preferred certifications include IICRC WRT/ASD/FSRT/AMRT, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous restoration, construction, or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Willingness to work on-call, nights, weekends, and emergency response situations.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and moisture monitoring.
• Assist with fire, smoke, and soot cleanup and deodorization.
• Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials such as drywall, flooring, and insulation.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment including air movers and dehumidifiers.
• Conduct mold remediation according to company and industry standards.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Maintain accurate job documentation including photos, moisture readings, and work logs.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working condition.
• Provide professional customer service to clients during stressful situations.

The Restoration Technician is responsible for performing restoration and cleanup services for residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, mold, storm damage, and other disasters. Technicians work as part of a team to mitigate damage, restore property, and ensure a safe and clean environment for customers.
