Job summary

SERVPRO of Paramus is seeking a motivated Restoration Technician to respond to emergency property damage and perform restoration tasks such as water extraction, drying, equipment setup, and site cleanup. You will work in a team, communicate clearly with supervisors, and assist clients through the restoration process.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to work on-call hours, and a preference for candidates with restoration or construction experience.

Qualifications

• Previous restoration, construction, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work on-call evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations (water, fire).
• Perform restoration tasks: water extraction, drying, equipment setup, demolition.
• Load and inventory tools and supplies for each project.
• Communicate safety hazards and site findings to supervisors.
• Explain restoration process to clients and address concerns.
• Conduct cleanup and restoration activities at the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage, fire damage.
• Evaluate and perform restoration activities including but not limited to, water extraction, fire damages, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and all necessary supplies for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, job site findings, equipment, and tool requirements for the worksite with supervisors.
• Maintain open and clear communication with clients, addressing their concerns and explaining the restoration process.
• Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying and site clean-up

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• IICRC certification is a plus.

Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
• Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
• Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
