Job summary

Washington Marriott Capitol Hill seeks a Restaurant Server to provide courteous food and beverage service in a high‑service hotel setting. You will take orders, input into the POS, coordinate with kitchen, and ensure guest satisfaction throughout each visit.

The role offers growth toward supervisory and management tracks. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior F&B experience and POS knowledge; TIPS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders and input into the POS system.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through courteous service.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas.
• Stock service stations with necessary items.
• Assist in food preparation/coordination as needed.
• Prepare guest checks and process payments when appropriate.
• Assist with bartending and bussing during peak periods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work to improve them.
• Follow EarthView sustainability guidelines and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Take food and beverage orders and place orders in the point of service system.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas.
• Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.
• Pick up orders from food preparation areas and ensure food is prepared accordingly.
• Prepare guest check and if appropriate complete payment transaction.
• Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing in the event of staff staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background And Skills
