Exceptional Hospitality Begins with You

At Palm House, thoughtful service, refined surroundings, and genuine connections create a distinctive luxury experience. We are seeking a polished, hands-on Restaurant Operations Manager to lead our restaurant team, elevate service standards, and build lasting relationships with our guests.

This opportunity is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on the restaurant floor, enjoys developing people, and understands the details that make a dining experience memorable.

Your Role

The Restaurant Operations Manager’s primary focus is leading the restaurant floor, strengthening service delivery, developing the team, and ensuring every guest feels personally welcomed and expertly cared for.

The role also oversees In-Room Dining and Pool service, which represent a smaller portion of the operation. The Hospitality Manager reports to this position. Banquet operations and the Director of Banquets remain outside this role’s scope.

Working closely with Food & Beverage leadership and the culinary team, you will balance exceptional guest care with effective staffing, operational efficiency, and financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Leadership & Guest Experience

  • Lead restaurant service with a visible, approachable presence on the floor.

  • Uphold Palm House’s luxury service standards, with attention to presentation, timing, accuracy, and personalized guest interactions.

  • Build relationships with hotel guests, local patrons, and returning diners by recognizing preferences and creating thoughtful experiences.

  • Oversee reservations, seating, table assignments, and service flow to support a seamless dining experience.

  • Anticipate guest needs, resolve concerns professionally, and ensure thoughtful follow-through.

  • Partner with culinary leadership on menu knowledge, food quality, dietary requests, and timely service.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and support the restaurant team and Hospitality Manager, setting clear expectations and encouraging accountability.

  • Conduct meaningful pre-shift briefings covering guest preferences, special occasions, menu updates, and service priorities.

  • Train team members in service etiquette, food and beverage knowledge, suggestive selling, and guest recovery.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and employee development in partnership with Food & Beverage leadership and People & Culture.

  • Foster a respectful, collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and pride in service.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, dining room readiness, cleanliness, and equipment condition.

  • Prepare and adjust schedules based on reservations, occupancy, and business needs while monitoring labor costs and overtime.

  • Review sales, guest feedback, and operating results to identify opportunities to improve performance.

  • Support inventory management, ordering, and control of restaurant supplies, serviceware, and beverage products.

  • Ensure accurate POS transactions, check settlement, cash handling, and adherence to procedures for discounts, voids, and complimentary items.

  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and hotel policies.

In-Room Dining & Pool Service

  • Provide operational oversight of In-Room Dining and Pool service, maintaining consistent service and presentation standards.

  • Work with the Hospitality Manager to coordinate staffing, service readiness, and timely delivery.

  • Monitor guest feedback and address service opportunities across both areas.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of restaurant management experience in a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or fine dining environment.

  • Strong background in hands-on restaurant floor leadership, elevated service standards, and guest relationship building.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop service teams, including supervising managers.

  • Experience managing staffing, scheduling, labor costs, inventory, and operating expenses.

  • Strong knowledge of fine dining service, wine, cocktails, food presentation, and dietary considerations.

  • Ability to oversee multiple service areas while maintaining a strong presence in the restaurant.

  • Proficiency with restaurant point-of-sale, reservation, and scheduling systems.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and guest recovery skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and cash-handling procedures.

  • Professional presentation and commitment to Palm House’s service and grooming standards.

  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
