Job summary

Goode Company BBQ is seeking a BBQ Manager to lead daily counter-service operations, coach team members, and build guest relationships while upholding the brand’s authentic Texas hospitality. You will collaborate with Home Office teams, vendors, and local partners to grow the customer base and ensure high-quality barbecue plates.

The role emphasizes leadership, guest experience, and collaboration across pit, prep, line, and dining areas, with a strong focus on safety, cost control, and guest

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality, restaurant management, or business education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent counter-service or restaurant supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading counter-service teams and delivering exceptional hospitality in a high-volume environment.
  • Working knowledge of BBQ restaurant operations, including pit, prep, line, cashier, expo, food quality, portioning, and service standards.
  • Experience coaching team members and supporting sales, labor, food cost, inventory, or guest service goals.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

  • Monitor line flow, wait times, order accuracy, portioning, packaging, and the presentation of BBQ plates and menu items.
  • Maintain hands-on knowledge of pit, prep, line, cashier, expo, dining room, and closing procedures so you can effectively run every area of the restaurant.
  • Ensure BBQ products are prepared, held, sliced, portioned, and served according to Goode Company standards.
  • Investigate and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating when appropriate.
  • Support menu launches, seasonal features, promotions, catering orders, and operational initiatives.
  • Support the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in managing labor, sales, food cost, and operating expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, guest loyalty, speed of service, and the overall customer experience.
  • Complete required shift, sales, labor, inventory, and operational reporting accurately.
  • Follow Company food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and workplace safety standards.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, service areas, dining areas, and restrooms are clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
  • Help recruit, onboard, train, coach, and retain exceptional team members.
  • Provide regular feedback and support team member development across all counter-service and kitchen positions.
  • Foster accountability, teamwork, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and communicate scheduling or performance concerns to leadership.
