Job summary

Cook Out is seeking a skilled Restaurant Maintenance Technician to service HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple locations. You will manage ice machines, walk-ins, and kitchen equipment, with cross-training on hot side items.

A company van is provided and overtime/weekend bonuses apply. Requirements include at least 2 years of refrigeration experience, own tools, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience.
• Must possess own tools/instruments for refrigeration work.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Able to work weekdays and every other weekend; on-call when needed.
• Reliable transportation to home restaurant; possible on-call van usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC & refrigeration systems across locations (AC units, walk-ins, ice machines, shake machines).
• Repair hot side kitchen equipment as cross-training.
• Inspect facilities and perform self-identified repairs to keep stores in top shape.
• Document requests and completions using company tablet.
• Collaborate with Service Area Managers, office staff, and store leadership.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Maintenance Team, you will serve multiple locations to ensure a safe, clean, and high-performing environment.

HVAC & Refrigeration: Repair and maintain AC units, walk-in coolers/freezers, modular equipment, ice machines, shake machines, and reach-in units.

Hot Side Maintenance: Learn to repair and maintain specialized kitchen cooking equipment.

Facility Care: Regularly inspect grounds, buildings, and systems; perform self-identified repairs to keep our stores in top shape.

Tech-Forward Tracking: Utilize a company tablet to manage requests and document completions in a timely manner.

Collaboration: Work closely with Service Area Managers (S.A.M.), office staff, and store leadership.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience with refrigeration (coolers and freezers).

Technical Tools: Must possess your own tools/instruments required for refrigeration work.

Availability: Must be able to work weekdays and every other weekend. Ability to be on-call when notified is required.

Driving Record: Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years. No major violations or accidents within the last 3–5 years (minor violations evaluated case-by-case).

Reliability: Reliable transportation to your home restaurant (where your work van is parked). Note: Van may be taken home when on call during weekends.

Physical: Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Compliance: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (no criminal convictions within the past 10 years).
