Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a Restaurant Host to greet and seat guests in a warm, professional manner, ensuring a smooth dining experience.

You will manage reservations, coordinate with servers, maintain decorum, and uphold high standards of hospitality, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of OpenTable platform.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Maintains presence at host stand / door to greet and seat customers.
• Monitors server performance to ensure smooth service during dining.
• Observes proper telephone etiquette.
• Handles reservations through OpenTable platform (including VIPs) and inquiries.
• Organizes reservations, maximizes seating during operating hours, and optimizes staffing and traffic.
• Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions and POS knowledge.
• Keeps flow of service to standards and seats customers appropriately.
• Participates in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects (tables, chairs, etc.).
• Maintains cleanliness and presentation of menus and covers.
• Maintains hygiene standards including uniform, hair, nails.
• Adheres to posted work schedule and shift-change procedures.

You Will Be

The Restaurant Host serves Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner by greeting and seating customers.

What You Will Do

• Maintains presence at host stand / door to professionally and graciously greet and seat customers


• Monitors server performance to ensure smooth service during the customers’ dining experience


• Observes proper telephone etiquette


• Handles reservations through OpenTable platform (including VIPs) and any additional inquiries regarding hours of operation, specials, events, etc.


• Organizes reservations, maximizes seating during operating hours, and optimizes staffing and customer traffic


• Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment and maintains knowledge of the POS system


• Keeps flow of service to standards (e.g., proper seating of customers to each wait station)


• Participates in daily pre-shift meetings


• Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)


• Maintains cleanliness and presentability of all menus and menu covers


• Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards to include, but not limited to:


• Clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes


• Clean and professionally styled hair and nails, maintained to avoid food contamination risks


• Adheres to posted work schedule and follows established procedures for schedule and shift changes

Salary Range $18.07 - $22.60*

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
