Job summary

NAYA in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead restaurant operations, drive sales, manage staff, and uphold food quality and service standards.

You will hire and mentor teams, control costs, schedule shifts, and partner with the Area Manager to achieve company goals. Excellent leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management/leadership operations experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the profitability of the store by growing sales and controlling labor, cost of goods and operating expenses.
• Hires, trains, manages, coaches, counsels, and evaluates all team members in partnership with HR.
• Develops Shift Leaders into their future General Managers at NAYA.
• Achieves sales, service, quality, cleanliness, and appearance targets through training and a positive environment.
• Ensures food and beverage items are prepared and served per recipes, portions, and serving standards.
• Creates and approves weekly schedules, staffing levels, and labor targets.
• Builds and maintains NAYA’s reputation in the community and monitors online reviews.
• Manages inventories of food, equipment, and smallware; conducts ordering and monthly inventory.
• Submits weekly payroll for approval and ensures cash handling procedures are followed.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures, andis accountable for, the profitability of the store by growing sales andcontrolling labor, cost of goods and operating expenses.
• Hires,trains, manages, coaches, counsels, and evaluates all team members inpartnership with the Human Resources Business Partner.
• Responsiblefor creating a culture of development in the restaurant.
• Must be ableto develop Shift Leaders into their role as well as develop them to be thefuture General Managers at NAYA.
• AchievesNAYA’s objectives in sales, service, quality, cleanliness, and restaurantappearance through staff training and creating a positive and productiveenvironment
• Ensures thatall food and beverage items are prepared and served in a timely manner andaccording to NAYA’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards
• Creates andapproves the weekly schedule and ensures proper staffing levels per businessneeds while meeting labor targets and FWW compliance.
• Activelybuilds and maintains the reputation of NAYA in the community, includingmonitoring online reviews, taking necessary recovery and recognition activitywith the guests and team members
• Controlsinventories of food, equipment, smallware, and report issues as necessary
• Conductsordering and monthly inventory
• Reviews dailytime punches for accuracy; addresses time clock abuse (clocking in early orlate) via coaching and/or documentation
• Submitsweekly payroll for approval
• Controls cashand other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation proceduresin accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
• Utilizesdaily, weekly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting tools
• Ensures alladministrative tasks are complete in a timely manner, like weekly payroll,accident and injury reporting etc.
• Supports anymarketing initiatives and promotions.

Who You Are

• 5+ years ofrestaurant management/leadership operations experience
• Bachelor’sDegree or higher
• Strongleadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superiorinterpersonal skills and ability to earn trust and respect from colleagues andstaff
• Thrives in aconstantly evolving, fast-paced environment
• Strongwritten and verbal communication skills
• Ability toutilize traditional software programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office and anyadditional systems as needed; Ability to access and accurately inputinformation using a moderately complex computer system
• Able to worknights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of thebusiness
• Able to liftat least 50 pounds on a regular basis and bend, stoop, stand and performextensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
