Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Tech Assistant to support the Cardiopulmonary Services team in providing patient care across age groups. The role includes EKGs, equipment cleaning, oxygen rounds, and stocking supplies under supervision of licensed therapists.

The ideal candidate is a high school graduate enrolled in an AMA accredited respiratory care program and is working to obtain a limited permit in Ohio. Strong communication and basic secretarial skills are valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Cardiopulmonary Therapists with patient care tasks and procedures.
• Perform EKGs, oxygen rounds, and equipment cleaning and stocking.
• Handle filing, data entry, and other light computer work as needed.
• Retrieve and prepare equipment for therapists and communicate with patients and clinicians.

Job description

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services, the Cardiopulmonary Tech Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Cardiopulmonary Department in the provision of patient care to all age groups. This may include, performing EKG’s, cleaning equipment, doing oxygen rounds, stocking and stickering of supplies, filing, computer work, assisting therapists, retrieving equipment or obtaining equipment for therapists, computer work, etc. This person may not make independent decisions and must work under supervision of licensed therapist.

• Must be a high school graduate and attending an AMA accredited respiratory care program.
• Must obtain a limited permit to perform respiratory care in the State of Ohio as soon as possible through their education program. All rules and regulations approved by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board must be adhered to.
• Patient education and good listening skills are necessary in order to communicate effectively with patients at all levels of educational experience.
• Knowledge of all aspects of Respiratory Care is valuable. Other tasks may be taken on as they are learned and check off by educational program.
• Some secretarial skills are helpful, including typing, phone skills and computer literacy with word processing in order to complete reports and other necessary paperwork.
• Good communications skills for relating to patients, doctors, nurses, and therapists.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
