GMH Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV, seeks a Respiratory Care Supervisor to manage daily operations of Cardiopulmonary Services and oversee staffing, quality standards, and collaboration with Administration.

The position requires a WV Licensed Respiratory Therapist with 5+ years in respiratory therapy and 2+ years of supervisory experience, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and related credentials. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm; exempt role.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree plus 5 years respiratory therapy experience and 2 years supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years respiratory therapy experience and 2 years supervisory experience
  • WV Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRTR)
  • BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE commissioning and Point of Care Technician requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Services.
  • Determines staffing and services needed for the department.
  • Monitors quality standards per ASRC, NBRC, WV Board and JCAHO standards.
  • Participates in planning and change management with Administrative Director.
  • Leads departmental projects to meet patient, department, and organizational needs.
  • Acts as liaison with Administration and other healthcare personnel.
  • Ensures clinical competency and monitors care quality via performance improvement processes.
  • Provides feedback and coaching, and handles employee development and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinates interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and other staffing activities.
  • Participates in budget and expenditure monitoring and departmental goals.
  • Supports staff education and in-services; contributes to hospital committees.

Participates in planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through attendance and participation in staff meetings, committees, task forces, projects and discussions with Administrative Director.5. Carries out special projects as designated by Administration in order to meet the needs of the patients, the department and the organization.6. Serves as a key resource for Respiratory Care and other healthcare personnel as related to respiratory care policies/procedures and acts as departmental liaison in conjunction with Administration.7. Monitors and assures clinical competency of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Services personnel and the appropriateness and effectiveness of care delivered through the use of the Hospital’s performance improvement process and quality assurance plan.8. Provides feedback regarding employee performance through appropriate use of the departmental/hospital reward and recognition programs, coaching reports, and progressive disciplinary process.9. Coordinates staffing needs including interviewing and hiring of personnel, scheduling, and other related activities.10. Actively participates in achievement of goals and objectives Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Services and departmental personnel.11. Participates in financial activities including the budgetary process and monitoring of expenditures.13. Provides assistance with employee education through coordination of clinical in-services and other staff/leadership development activities.12.
