Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a Respiratory Educator (RE) for a full-time day-shift role. The RE will lead orientation, competency, and in-service programs, and develop education for new equipment and policies, to advance staff proficiency and patient care.

Successful candidates will have an associate degree in respiratory therapy (and a bachelor’s in a healthcare field), at least five years in respiratory care, NBRC RRT certification, and demonstrated project management and

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy is required, plus a bachelor's degree in a healthcare field.
• Minimum of five years' experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care.
• NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops innovative learning approaches for orientation, competency, and in-service programs.
• Create and implement continuing education based on needs assessment.
• Provide education/training on all new equipment and validates each staff member on use.
• Participate in the development of respiratory policies/procedures.
• Collaborate with hospital-based education specialist for organizational needs.
• Mentor team members to focus on professional growth and development.
• During times of no scheduled education, may perform normal duties as a staff RT.
