Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD seeks a PRN Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy and evaluate treatment effectiveness. The role requires airway and ventilator management, ABG collection, and patient education, with a focus on patient dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Some College Currently enrolled in an A.M.A. approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner Temporary Permit or Certified Respiratory Therapist active in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapeutics including CPT & PD, aerosol therapy, MDI, IPPB, O2 management, spirometry setup.
• Provides airway management.
• Provides mechanical ventilator management.
• Performs arterial blood gas collection and analysis.
• Educates patient and family on disease process as appropriate.
• Considers hemodynamic/pharmacologic interactions and notifies the appropriate person when needed.
