Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia, seeks a Respiratory Care ALS Provider or Intermediate to deliver direct respiratory therapy, administer inhaled medications, and perform pulmonary assessments across the hospital.

You will work under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, assess patients, carry out approved procedures, document care, manage equipment, and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current and Active EMT Intermediate or Paramedic License in Virginia.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides generalized Respiratory Care treatments under supervision.
• Assesses patients for appropriate treatment interventions.
• Performs approved procedures independently per competency.
• Assists Respiratory Therapist with assessments, equipment management and treatment.
• Cleans and sets up medical equipment for Respiratory Therapists.
• Documents patient care, vital signs, bedside care and observations.
• Observes and reports patient condition changes to the care team.
• Transports patients as necessary.
• Maintains patient safety and stock of supplies.
• Completes unit-specific orientation.
