Job summary

Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Technician - Non-Certified to support licensed therapists with basic respiratory care, monitor patients, and help keep equipment clean and ready for use in a safe clinical setting.

Under supervision, you will assist with oxygen and aerosol therapies, document patient responses, educate families, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols while contributing to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Respiratory Therapy Technician training program or coursework in a related healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed respiratory therapists in basic treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol, and incentive spirometry.
• Observes and monitors patients during therapy and reports adverse reactions to the supervising therapist.
• Cleans, maintains, and sets up respiratory equipment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Records treatment administration and patient responses in the medical record as directed.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for procedures, ensuring adequate stock and functionality.
• Educates patients and families on basic respiratory exercises under supervision.
• Follows departmental policies, safety regulations, and infection prevention protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
